If you know Sydney & Will, you know they are always ready for a good time. They are often the hosts of large parties for their friend group so when it came to their wedding, something grand was expected. The Scottsdale couple knew they were going to have a New Year’s Eve party so they decided, why not go bigger and celebrate their wedding day too?
The wedding weekend began on Thursday with a rehearsal at the Franciscan Renewal Center and rehearsal dinner at Steak 44 with a small group of family and friends before the larger festivities kicked off on Friday. The next day was the ceremony in the afternoon where Sydney was dressed in a gorgeous classic, long-sleeved gown in contrast to her groom and wedding party in all black. The welcome party followed the ceremony in the Camelback Villa at the Omni Montelucia. A welcome sign by Arch and Arrow greeted guests to “The Night Before” where all white rental furniture from Prim Design Company filled the lawn and Lux Florist sprinkled their floral touch to the tabletops.
Early the next day, drapes and rentals from Quest Events, Prim Design Company & Bright Event Rentals arrived at the Omni Montelucia for setup. Sydney & Will enjoyed brunch with their families and a wedding party in the Camelback Villa before the ‘getting ready’ portion of the day began. With the ceremony already done, guests were welcomed right into a cocktail hour on the terrace outside of the ballroom where live music from Downbeat Agency was played. The Bride in her form-fitting, all-lace gown and the Groom in his white tux made their appearance halfway through surrounded by their wedding party in all white.
After cocktail hour, dinner moved into the moody ballroom draped in black. Velvet ivory linens and black velvet napkins from BBJ La Tavola covered the guests’ tables that featured black matte chargers, black flatware, and acrylic chairs from Bright Event Rentals. The sleek, acrylic head table with gold-rimmed chairs from Prim Design Company was the focal point at the head of the black and white dance floor. Lux Florist created a variety of stunning white floral pieces from tall arrangements to cascading flowers off of the head table that elevated the design to another level of sophistication.
As dinner came to a close, Mr. & Mrs. Groves cut their rose-covered cake from A Bake Shop and said a few words of thanks before the dance floor opened. The real party started when the LED dancers from Dancing Fire Entertainment entered the ballroom on stilts and with flashing lights. The personalized ice luge was in full use making espresso martinis in the smoke-colored champagne coups and the incredibly talented band from Downbeat Agency kept the dance floor full all night long. An obligatory champagne toast at the countdown to midnight followed by “Auld Lang Syne” rang in the New Year.
Sydney & Will, your wedding was one for the ages. We loved being a part of your epic wedding and the start of your life together. We are not sure how you will top this New Year’s Eve celebration, but we will leave that to you! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to host your first party as Mr. & Mrs. Groves!
Thank you Mary Claire Photography and Amari Productions for beautifully capturing their day!
