Since 2014, I have been planning and designing stories, not just spaces. My couples love the stunning layers of style and detail throughout their events, and yet, it’s the resulting feeling of their wedding that makes a world of a difference. Because it was planned, designed and styled to be classic, not cookie cutter. Meant to inspire unforgettable memories with a well-rounded planning process that clears up your inbox and lets you savor every moment.

At the end of every event, wedding weekend or seamless soiree, you will notice that she knows every face and name. Meanwhile, the guests will have lost track of time in the best way. And years down the road, friends who weren’t even there will still be talking about what your wedding was like.
Kayla takes on a select number of weddings per year, and is trusted by couples worldwide. Everything from the colors to the layout, textures and timeline sets a mood. With an understanding of your vision, she establishes a clear design, narrowing down the details that will bring it all together.

Hints of vintage, quietly beautiful heirlooms — pulled together effortlessly. Whether it’s your weekend wardrobe, the interior design of your home or the oceanside hotel you stayed at for the last days of summer, your taste is flawless without trying too hard.
If it weren’t for your tight-knit relationships with the people that matter most in your life, you would be eloping. But, you hope to celebrate with friends and family, and you want that celebration to be incredible — something you and your guests can delight in.
You hope to immerse yourself in the experience, not to find yourself lost in the decisions, emails and what-ifs. Here, you will find that sense of collaboration and dedication that is just right. Incredible, not intolerable.
Couples have told me I am really good at the whole long-distance relationship thing. After all, most of my couples are planning a trip, in addition to their wedding. So, I look after all of those logistics and provide the from-afar communication that feels like I am right next door.
A Colorado girl, but with a southern heart and a vocabulary that includes “ya’ll,” I aspire every single time for hospitality, to be hands-on without holding back and to center it all around your story. Baking, if you must know, is my form of stress relief, walking my dog is my meditation and I cannot say no to French cuisine or an afternoon tea.
Now, having planned hundreds of weddings, what keeps me coming back is the community, the connections you sense amongst the crowd with families and friends enjoying themselves at an event you put your heart and soul into.
At just 16 years old, I knew I wanted to be a wedding planner. Without hesitation, I chose to study hospitality and tourism at Arizona State University, earning my bachelor’s degree and a certification in special event management. During my studies, I began my first role as a wedding planner in Arizona here at Some Like It Classic. I fell in love with the brand and ultimately purchased Some Like It Classic the same week I walked across the stage with my diploma in hand.
Of course, we must not forget Honey, my maltipoo who is at my side 24/7.
From the Lady in Waiting who acts as your personal assistant for any and every need during the wedding to my concierge liaison and supporting planners.
I will be the main contact and primary support for you as a couple, but I also rely on a highly skilled and innovative team that makes all the difference behind the scenes.
