Rachael & Matt came to us from Boston ready to plan their destination wedding, but needed help executing their vision. With their level organization and attention to detail, we knew from the start we would be a great fit. The couple met at the gym through their love of working out, but soon found other similar interests that turned their friendship into something more. After a quick stint in Michigan, Rachael and Matt moved back to Boston where they live now with their sweet pup, Zola.
It was a beautiful spring day in March for Rachael & Matt’s wedding at Royal Palms Resort and Spa. They had the event spaces to themselves, which is not only a dream for them, but also a dream for us! There was a sense of calm and quiet that set the tone for the entire day.
The ceremony took place in the gorgeously intimate Camelback Vista. The aisle was lined with stunning, lush arrangements in shades of pink, nude, and peach by Carte Blanche Design that created the look of walking through a field of fresh flowers. As Rachael and her father entered through the gates and descended down the aisle, you could feel the love in the air not only between bride and groom, but from everyone there. The ceremony included several personal elements including a ring warming where their loved ones each took turns holding the rings and “warming” them with their well wishes and prayers for Rachael & Matt. Additionally, they had a family bell at the altar and mini bells at each seat. The bells were a take on the tradition of ringing church bells that signified the end of an event or service and the love and joy that comes with the start of what is to come after the bells have rung. Matt’s family has a bell that is passed from family member to family member as they each get married. Once Rachael & Matt were pronounced husband and wife, the officiant rang the Sylvester bell and all the guests rang their bells in celebration as the married couple made their way back down the aisle. We loved the unique and personal traditions they included and the story it told.
Cocktail hour featured tray passed mini prickly pear margaritas and a bubbly burro that greeted guests with sparkling wine and a furry smile. Guests’ names were displayed on leaf-like tags attached to individual clementines that indicated which Arizona mountain peak-named table they were to sit at for dinner in the Orange Grove. Gold rimmed glass chargers complemented the gold rimmed fluted glassware from Bright. Tuscany sage napkins with custom menus by Freja Creative surrounded by gold flatware rounded out the place setting design. Prim Design Co. Atticus tables had an Aurora blush runner with low organic arrangements, pillar candles and bud vases, while the round tables featured the patterned Luisa vanilla linen and matching desert-toned floral beautifully curated by Carte Blanche Design.
Following dinner, Rachael changed into her party dress before she and Matt made their sparkler grand entrance into Palmera Salon where The Instant Classics welcomed everyone to the dance floor with a cover of “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates. Guests had their fair share of late night snacks and sweet treats from A Bake Shop with customized to go boxes for when they had their fill. Pixster photo booth helped document the fun and a cigar lounge on the patio kept guests entertained while off of the dance floor. The night ended with the whole crowd singing along to the last song in celebration one more time of the newlyweds.
Rachel & Matt, thank you so much for trusting us with your wedding. We genuinely loved getting to know you and wish you nothing but the best in your married life!
