As SLIC's newest Senior Consultant, I would like to take this time to tell you how wonderful it has been working with Amina Michele and Some Like It Classic. After 8 years in the hospitality industry in Lincoln, NE, Lake Tahoe, CA, Myrtle Beach, SC and recently Scottsdale, AZ, my transition into wedding planning has been a breath of fresh air. Working with our brides to-be have truly brought new joy and excitement to my life!
With that, I have been asked to write an article for July’s newsletter so that you can get to know me and some of the things I think you should know. Today, I’ll be telling you what to look for in invitation trends for the year 2010.
As the world is going green, so are the brides of the future. One recent trend is the rise of wedding invitation videos. With the financial crunch, couple’s are getting a little more inventive with their wedding details; and with the growing popularity of wedding websites, videos seem like a no-brainer. Check out www.coreyrachelinvite.com and see what you too can do with a little creativity, a camera and the web! Also save money with paperless RSVP responses. Guests can go to your website to respond to save you money on RSVP response cards and postage!
While invitations of the past have stuck with conservative, elegant and artistic script, we’re seeing a big trend in bold letters with multiple fonts. These “Font-tabulous" designs have modern flair with color, interesting design components and less traditional font choices. By going bold, you can save money and cut out using specialty papers and pricey embellishments.
With paper products on our minds, we would like to showcase one of our favorite paper vendors: PaperCrazy. They have a huge selection of invitations you can sort through. They can even create custom invitations. With their vast selection of handmade papers from around the world and beautiful ribbons, your invitation will reflect your style and personality. The studio is located in central Phoenix at 4500 N. 12th Street and is open Monday thru Friday from 9-5:30, and by appointment on evenings Monday thru Thursday or on Saturdays. SLIC can attest that PaperCrazy has a friendly and knowledgeable staff. You will be completely ensured your invitations will turn out exactly the way you envisioned, if not better!
